Dr. C. Koner is Associate Professor of Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur. He has more than ten years of teaching and research experience in different in engineering colleges. Dr. Koner is a Member of the Computer Society of India, Indian Society for Technical Education, Indian Science Congress Association, Forum of Scientists, Engineers & Technologists, Institute of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers, Cryptology Research Society of India, International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology, Singapore, Computer Science Teachers Association, USA, Universal Association of Computer and Electronics Engineers, Australia, International Rough Set Society, Canada and Senior Member of the Operation Research Society of India. He is reviewer of many international journals and was the reviewer of different IEEE International Conference in India and abroad. He has four patents and is an author of more than fifty research papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He has authored three books (Authentications in Remote and Mobile System Communications, Theoritical Foundation of Programing in C and Theoritical Foundation of Object Oriented Programming) which were published by Lap Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany and Lakshmi Prakashani. Book Overview

Image processing is the study of techniques, schemes and algorithms for producing desired image(s) from any input image(s). The embedded applications of image processing are increasing rapidly with swift enlargement of quality and size of images. Improvement of pictorial information for betterment of human perception in several fields such as satellite imaging, medical imaging etc is prime issue to the researchers and scientists in current research era. The book is organized into eleven chapters. The first chapter presents the concepts of image processing and its tools. The second chapter describes different photography and image capturing techniques. It also provides techniques for capturing motion images and controlling the shutter of cameras. The third chapter explains about the digitalization of images elaborately with the details of image sampling and image quantization. The fourth chapter focuses about different noise detection and filtering schemes. The fifth chapter tells about edge detection of images. The sixth chapter discusses about histogram plot of foreground images. The seventh chapter describes image segmentation. The eighth chapter provides histogram to histogram matching.
