ALOK JHA was born in Saharsa, Bihar. He obtained his BSc. in Botany with Honours at BNM University, Madhepura, Bihar. He moved to Patiala, Panjab in 2005 for pursuing his master in Biotechnology degree at Thapar University. Again, he moved to Roorkee in 2008 to join in the Department of Biotechnology, IIT Roorkee for pursuing his Ph.D. He obtained his Ph.D. degree at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2014 and worked there as a research scholar (JRF and SRF). His published research is in the area of Computational and Structural Biology, with the focus on Strawberry Dioxygenase structure and substrate interactions, including inhibitors and drug substrates. He also published article on Selenium accumulation and selenium induced anti-oxidant activity in Allium cepa. He studied stress and redox biology in plants and bacterial system. He has interest in scientific writing, which reflects in his blogs. He also has ambition in promoting science. He is currently following his research interests contributing to structure aided drug designing and combinatorial drug therapy.
